I did think about putting in the warning (I'm actually one of those people who hate character death) but I thought that since he dies of old age having led a happy life people might be ok with it. If I'd put the warning there I thought it might have spoilt the mystery of the story. It's a fine balance and I just didn't know which way to go. No complaints so far though so *crosses fingers*
